The ‘Riveting Writing’ Recipe

How often have you heard someone say, “I could write a book!”? Can you imagine how exciting it would be if YOU had the recipe for writing an interesting piece of fiction?

What are the ingredients of a brilliant book? How does the author maintain the interest of the reader? How useful might it be if YOU were to have some tips on writing stories of your own? Wouldn’t it be exciting to see YOUR work in print?

Ingredients

(Consider your audience BEFORE you begin to write. Prepare your ideas as to whom might your story appeal?)

One cup of Place

Then add

One cup of Time
Then
add

One and a half cups of Plot
Then
stir in

Two cups of Characters
Combine with

One and a half cups of appeal to the readers’ senses
(SIGHT, SOUND, FEELINGS, TOUCH,
MOVEMENT, SMELL AND TASTE)

Mix with

Two cups of Suspense/ anticipation
Finally
add

Two cups of Climax

Denouement- the End
